Watering of the eyes is a natural process to hydrate the eyes and normally excess water drains out through small openings below eyes in upper part of the nose, When this openings get blocked, ones eyes get watery. Other things that make eyes go watery is emotional as in when you are happy or sad or angry. If that is not the case then you will need to rule out any foreign body or physical irritation with the doctor. If not, then any infection to the eyes which will require medication from the qualified doctor. What ever it is, you need to consult your doctor first.

My eyes water first thing in the morning, sometimes for some time. It is just their way of clearing away any debris, some eyes are more sensitive than others. However if your Mum's eyes water all the time it may be that she has some irritation that needs clearing up. A visit to the doctor, to make sure it is not a medical condition is on the cards. He may suggest a visit to the eye specialist if he thinks it is required. Tell your Mum not to play about with her sight, get it seen to if only for peace of mind, yours if not hers.

It's possible she has an allergy, or perhaps has an eye infection. She should see an eye doctor.

Weak tearducts. Mention it to her doctor who should be able to advise properly. Never worth playing about and guessing with eye problems.
