Luke 12:1-3 (N.I.V.)
Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.”

wise has a positive connotation to it, hypocrite has a negative connotation to it, so no, it's not wise to be a hypocrite.

Most people think it is wise to be a hypocrite. Most people think wealth is the same thing as wisdom, and class.
I dont think so. I think honesty and inteligence are what define wisdom and class.
I imagine Jesus would agree.
The Pharisees might as well be the Americans, considering Jesus was speeking of money minded people in oppose to communal people like himself, and his people.
Anyway, they crucified Jesus. Meaning they publicly humilliated him to death, simpy because he was a man and he stood up vocaly and publicly, and told the pesants to live with and for God, and themselves. The sick societal people want to defile pesants, since they defile themselves for money. Jesus taught the pesants to be human, while all of the rich and powerful were devolving beneath the monkys. This angered all of the animalistic humans, and homosexuals of Rome, who called themselves JEWS. (christians) in an American context.
HYPOCRITES
I think Jesus thinks, that A truely religious MAN should be King.
I'm on a steady path to being HOMELESS,
unless the Communists create a HUGE army!
WWJD?

I think it's talking about the Pharisees being so proud of their education and so on that it makes them hypocrites. I think that could apply to anyone who is inordinately proud of his or her intellect, education, knowledge, talent, or whatever.
Wisdom is matter of knowing how to use your knowledge appropriately, in the right time and situation; like discretion or tact. Some folks are smart but not wise, and others are wise but not smart or educated. For example, Bill Clinton is said to have an unusually high IQ, but he may have done some things that weren't very wise. My grandmother never got farther than grade school, but she was very wise about certain things.

I think it's nearly impossible not to be a hypocrite. If we start with the assumption that we each have a standard of behavior that we claim as our own, and although we make a great effort to adhere to that standard, we often fall short. Still we claim that the standard is the one that guides our lives.
If claiming to have a standard, and not living up to that standard is hypocrisy, we are all hypocrites. Perhaps we ought to be more forgiving.

Wise hmmm odd choice of words.... Being hypocritical is obviously not a good thing to be, or wise i suppose. Kind of a silly question. Aside from your refferrence to the bible we all know it is a bad habbit to get into. However some do it only to hide themselves not intending to damage or hurt anyone. ..Lets

I don't see your point...
There's no hypocrisy in these scriptures if that's what you're leaning towards.
And no...it's not wise to be a hypocrite. The Pharisees were BIG hypocrites.
