He was killed because he threatened the religious establishment.
Plus, he made sure he was killed because he wanted to be martyred.

At that time the Jewish religious leaders were going beyond the law of Moses which they were obligated to follow but not to add unnecessary burdens upon the Jewish people. They also did not practice what they preached and were viewed as hypocrites. Jesus exposed their manmade traditions and showed how they overstepped the commandments of God themselves. Christ followed the Law covenant and in fact fulfilled it. Many of the self-righteous religious leaders also saw Jesus fulfill prophecy but turned their hearts away from him. They were looking for a way to have him arrested by the ruling powers of his day so stirred up the nation of Israel with false charges of wanting to make himself a king. They accused him of blasphemy because he claimed to be the Messiah, the promised king foretold in the scriptures. Unable to have him put to death on these charges they convinced the Roman government that he was guilty of sedition, rebelling against the government, a serious charge, therefore breaking their law. Of course these were all trumped up charges that lead to Jesus arrest and death.

As hard as it is for us to believe, to understand, He had to die. It was a part of God's plan from the very beginning of time.
Everybody thinks we were given the 10 Commandments as a way to earn ourselves a spot in Heaven. Not so. God's law is written on all of our hearts, even the non-believers. The commandments were given to point the way a righteous person should live. We can't do anything to earn a spot in the hereafter. I'm not saying this well, darn it!
If we have to jump thru hoops, be held against a measuring stick, we become full of pride, wanting to pat ourselves on the back: "Look how good I am," we miss the point entirely. It becomes a matter of accomplishment, not a gift we don't deserve. None of us deserve to go to Heaven, none of us ever will, no matter how good we are or think we are. We have to humbly accept the gift of grace, knowing that Christ, a perfect Son of the Father, part of the 3 in 1 God, died a horrible, degrading death on the cross and He didn't deserve to. He became the perfect blood sacrifice to atone for all of OUR sins, not His own. He was sinless.
Yes, He followed the Law and, yes, He was different. And that scared the religious establishment of that time, the Sadducees and the Pharisees. What He was doing was upsetting their balance of power. They didn't want to give up that power. So they connived with the Roman government to have Him killed, not knowing they were following God's plan all along.
I know I am missing some important points here. Please, please read the Gospel of John.
Have a great day.

Because there is a prophecy in the bible in Genesis 3:15 And I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heel.” the seed of the woman was Jesus and the other seed all the people who is against Jesus, not only in that time but now. his dead is to pay something if you take with your credit card something 30 days later you should pay that is the procedure, the sin of adan and eve was a debt, and jesus pay that debt, ask Jehovah Witness for more details.

Because He claimed to be a king and that was a threat...what wasnt understood is that He mean king of a different kingdom not on earth, they couldnt understand that. Plus, it was to fulfill scripture and pan out as God wanted to. He didnt just jump off the cross because He followed what God wanted. If you read in Matthew while praying Jesus asks that this may be lifted from Him, but was denied the request. Therefore He followed Gods plan, and everything happened the way it did

According to excerpts from the Book of Judas, Jesus asked Judas to turn him into Roman authorities so that he would be put to death as an example of self sacrifice and to free him of his "fleshly prison". I'm interested to watch the documentary on the alleged discovery of Jesus & Mary Magdelene's tomb. The bible states that there was conflict in Israel over the definition of Messiah. The Jews were looking for a Warlord so to speak to deliver them from Rome and the rebel Barabas better fit that image than the pacifist and somewhat heretic they perceived Jesus to be. When Pilate asked the crowed who was to be spared to win favor with the Jews, Barabas' name was called over that of Jesus. Jesus was killed and Barabas was released as the Jews were looking for a military leader for the messiah to come in and kick out Rome.

Jesus Christ was killed for our sins, that we all could be forgiven even till this day, and that when we die, we can have a big party in Heaven with Him. Its truley amazing.
But even more amazing was that Jesus rose again on the third day to prove that He really is the Son of God!

Jesus was accused of being "blasphemous" which was really no crime back then. They actually could not find any fault in Him but claiming to be the Son of God, which He really was. They couldn't find fault because there was no fault. He was a perfect and sinless man that was born of a virgin. He is the Son of God, and the reason for His birth WAS to die. He knew that he had to do it. And he gave up His life (no, it wasn't taken from Him. Because He could have come down from the cross if He had wanted to) for us so that we wouldn't have to suffer an eternity in Hell. All you need to do is just believe and surrender to Him, and you will be saved by His blood.
It's a beautiful thing.

Jesus came to earth to pay the price for our salvation. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. The Priests who ordered His death charged Him with blasphemy. The Roman soldiers carried out the execution.

No one recorded the exact charge from the Romans. They usually reserved crucifixion for direct enemies of the state. They had many less brutal means of execution and they kept this one for guys they wanted to make an example out of.
