My husband is going to WLC (the new version of PLDC) when I am going to be in the beginning of my ninth month of pregnancy. If I go into labor, how do I get in touch with him? Do I go through his chain of command, call the NCO Academy, or will the hospital have to send an actual Red Cross Message?

They said they wouldn't send him if it would overlap my due date (because of the whole family issues thing), but I just want to be prepared in case I go into labor early.

I would go with the Red Cross Message first and you can also call his Chain of Command at the NCO Academy to let them know what's going on and that you have sent the Red Cross Message. Good Luck!

Actually all of those are good choices. But I would say for a pregnancy, I would go through the chain of command. Red Cross really only deals with death or serious illness.

My husband is at WLC now and your husbands unit shouldnt have sent him if you were pregnant. My husbands unit refused to send him while I was pregnant because they have to sign a contract saying there are no family issues that will stop him from completing the course. But you can call his sponser (his commanding officer who is responsible for him at WLC) and they can get the message to him, but it will seriously stop his chances of promotion if he has to leave WLC.

the only Offcial way is the Red Cross message. He may or may not be allowed to leave though. Normally, while in any type of classroom setting or other training, they won't.

Your best bet is to make arangements for you to assume he won't be able to come back.

All three of those would work. Get those contact numbers now so you are prepared if it happens.
