Don't worry! Yes!!! There is a gel that they put on your gum before tehy give the injection to you. You will barely feel it, and if you do, it will be like an annoying pinch feeling!! I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out in hospital and it was no where near as bad as I expected. Truly, you will be fine :-) Don't stress, take it from me (a big wuss!!!) that you will be fine :-)

If you are having more than one pulled, I would get put to sleep if you can afford it. Second, yes, my dentist uses a numbing gel before he gives an injection, but it does not seem to matter to me. Injections are injections. I had to have four teeth pulled for my braces some years ago, and they gave me laughing gas. It did not hurt, but I could hear everything they did and I did not like that. I still remember it as a nightmare. When they took out my three wisdom teeth I was asleep. That is definitely the way to go if you can afford it or your insurance covers it. Good luck to you.

Honestly the injection does not hurt you will feel a slight scratch on your gum. I hate injections so i wouldnt mislead you. I had three wisdon teeth out all at once at the dentist and went back to work after, did have a mouth full of cotton packs though! Once your numb you can feel them working but no pain. Unless you are asleep of course.

Injections in your mouth don't hurt much at all, I had my wisdom tooth out and didn't even feel the injection. It's a little unpleasant afterwards because it will ache for a few days but it's better than the pain you will have to go through if you don't have it done. Don't worry, you'll be fine.

I had my wisdom teeth (all of them!) out in hospital last year. I was really surprised how easily them came out! The injection they give is just a scratch on the inside of your cheek and gum - and it will freeze your mouth. The dentist will then pull at the tooth until it loosens, and then it comes out.
Like you, I was scared, but there was no need - im so glad I had them out.
Good luck xxxx

There is absolutely NOTHING to be scared from. It is true that extracting third molars requires surgical procedures but its so simple that it can be done in 10 minutes (when performed by an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon) even tho general dentists can perform it to, and that shows you that its a very simple procedure. There is no need for general anesthesia really, but if you're afraid from the local anesthesia then you can go for the general anesthesia. Its non-sense to be afraid from general anesthesia because you'll just fall asleep and wake up finding that your third molar has been extracted. Finally, just remember that almost ALL people go through the same thing and I wish you the best of luck :)

I can't remember being given anything before the injections. I had two wisdom teeth out at the hospital, but I was awake for it. It took ages, so if they offer you a general anaesthetic it could be worth considering.
It might be worth asking about a mild sedative to take if you are anxious and likely to flip! Ring them beforehand though or ask your GP about it.
Also if you are extremely anxious about it you may be able to ring them or go in for a chat - they are usually quite kind! It might help to reassure you/calm your nerves.
Good luck with it, I hate going to the dentist.

in the experience that your enamel is totally erupted you are the suited option to assert that it would be extra basic to get rid of than if it replace into partly erupted or no longer by using in any respect. however the terrific undertaking with understanding enamel, surprisingly decrease ones, is that the form of the roots is extremely variable and this could make the enamel perplexing to get rid of. If I have been you i might ask the dentist to take an xray of the enamel to work out: a. Will it rather is straight forward to get rid of.? b. How lots decay is interior the enamel - can it rather is somewhat crammed? somewhat, the only individual who can recommend you on your individual undertaking is a superb dentist and that's extremely unwise to pay any interest in any respect to the stories of others whose dental situations may be very diverse. from time to time in existence you merely could desire to renounce to the advice of the expert - yet would not you somewhat do this than take the advice of somebody on an internet site like this. good success.

Yes, they numb the area w/ some liquid on a q-tip then give the shot. For wisdom teeth removal though you will probably have gas and maybe even an I.V.
