My lovely wife retired last year after working hard as a very concientious teacher at a special school and has made do with self-catering holidays for the last God knows how many years. I had some life policies mature last year and I promised her that she will have a super holiday for at least once in her life and I have booked us in for two weeks at a 5-star hotel in Tenerife and we are both looking forward to it immensely..I do hope that everybody who answers this question also have a great time.

I am going to Egypt next week.i went for a week to HURGADA
in november 06 not a nice place. not for us anyway we took a day tour to Luxor which made the holiday worse, we paid more than700 dollars and only saw 3 tombs and a few temples, but what pissed us off was the time spent in the alabaster shops,
on the way to the valley of the kings , we stopped outside a hotel on the checkpoint with a sign in big writing myegypt.co.uk
easy to remember as it was a uk address.
when we got back home totally fed up with the thompsons tour we went with, we even filled in the complaints on the plane form, something we have never done before, then we saw a program on egypt on the telly, we saw nothing of this when we were in Egypt, so we decided to go back, remembering the name we saw on the hotel we went into thier web site and found it was just what we are looking for, Cairo the oasis luxor 5*cruise to aswan, all in one package.we paid more than this just to stay in Hurgada, so we are going to see tombs and temples pyramids
and a cruise in Egypt, we will be doing what we want to do. i sent an email to some of the address on thier feed back page, and they all had a good holiday no bad reports, try and find out for yourself before you go on a holiday its your hard earned money, so get the most out of it, do not go a place like Egypt cos its cheap, you will end up paying more than what you bargained for, and not seeing and doing what you want wthout paying through the nose.this is my source on egypt.

I have no idea if we will or not, this year, my husband started a new job and works on Saturdays. He hasn't been there long enough to earn vacation yet. For Christmas, we had a 3 stop mini vacation: First stop Texas, then Arkansas, then Louisiana, then back home. It was lots of fun.

In 2 weeks I head to Valencia for the brilliant Las Fallas Fire Festival until the 20th March.
Then in April I head to Granada for Semana Santa (Holy or Easter Week)
For my main trip in Aug/Sept I'm either going to travel overland from Cairo to Istanbul through Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Levabon, Syria, Iran and into Turkey for 3 months,
or maybe travel overland around the Balkans and Turkey for 3 months,
or travel overland from Ethipia to Zambia for 3 months...
and all that for £4000 :)
