I got really sick and had to take some meds that required me to not nurse, I've been wanting to wean her anyway she is almost 19 months, so I just stopped, cold turkey. How long will it take for my milk supply to dry up (It's been like a week and I still like feel like I have milk in there).

It's better to wean slowly but I see you thad no choice but to stop cold turkey. It will take several weeks for your milk to stop. It could be as long as 3 months before it's totally gone but you should feel some relief in another week or so. You're lucky your baby is 19 months and was probably feeding less frequently toward the end. That should help. Good luck.

Drink sage tea. You can get the sage leaves from a health food store usually. I drank 3 or 4 cups a day for 2 days and I was completely dried up. Also cabbage leaves in the bra help. Good job for nursing so long!!! :)

I also in simple terms weaned my toddler at 18 months. My first question will be what percentage visits to the breast an afternoon at present? To wean correct with none engorging and soreness (it really is what I did for my toddlers) is to be positive to take out feedings gradually and not at all all feedings instantly. At 18 months i'd say your daughter is on a 4 an afternoon visit to the breast or a lot less. For the first week you're taking out the morning feeding. second week you're taking out the late afternoon feeding. third week you're taking out the nap feeding and the finest week you're taking out the bedtime feeding. no longer positive what your progression is yet weaning must be performed gradually!!! attempt to grants your self that month in case you could. if you're experiencing the soreness notwithstanding and would't stretch it out..... then regrettably you in effortless words ought to bear with it. Over some days, your breasts will discern out that there is not any one to nurse and commence drying up. be positive to placed on a reliable supportive nursing bra with the pads interior for leakage. i comprehend they receives sore notwithstanding it really is suitable no longer to tutor any milk. The tiniest little bit of excretion provides the breast a clue lower back that you need to be generating milk on the prompt of day. Take a bag of frozen greens wrapped in a washcloth and enable sit down on genuine of breast for jiffy to assist with soreness and engorging. Now like I said, I absolutely have lately weaned my 18 month previous daughter - nicely no longer too modern-day, she's 23 months previous now. And as for drying up - if I were to manually tutor at present, i'd have milk. The trick is to no longer tutor!! And in case you allot your self that factor to wean the soreness for you'd be so little or no. i did not journey any soreness. more suitable element one among those agenda you're at present on with toddler and that i'll make sure if i'd be of more suitable thoughts.... if i became of any yet!!!

It took me about a week and a half. It depends on how much your body produces. I heard that some people breast milk last for awhile. If you feel like something isn't right talk with your OBGYN.
