The only time he says my name is is in this context

"I, the Lord your God whose name is Jealous...."

I guess that's his name.

Other times he just says he is the great I Am and whatnot.

Jehovah is the English translation of the Tetragrammaton, YHWH, the name of God in Hebrew. It means "I Shall Prove to Be What I Shall Prove to Be" which is derived from a root word that means "He Causes to Become."

Most translations have removed oit from their Bibles in the almost 7,000 occurences, replacing it with the titles LORD or GOD. The KJV has done so, retianing the English translation of the Name in 4 places. - Exodus 6:3; Psalm 83:18; Isaiah 12:2; 26:4.

There are many. Even in Christianity, there are more than one.
Yhwh, Jehovah, Allah (Yes, in some parts of the Christian world, this is the proper name of God; Check out an Indonesian CHRISTIAN Bible), and of course, Jesus and others.

I would say the closest is Jehovah. The Tetragrammaton (four letter word in Greek) is written over 7000 times in the bible, but there were no vowels so we don't know how to really pronounce it. Other variations are: Alleluliah, Yah, Yahweh.

Ive been studying that Q ever since I became a Christian and Ive come to the conclusion that God does NOT have a specific name. There are many things that we have CALLED him in the past, Yahweh, Elohim, Jehovah, etc etc. But these are only names we gave to God, not that he gave to us. Now I know I could call you wendy anderson or butterfly breath but the truth is neither of those are YOUR name, but that is simply what I chose to call you.

God doesnt have a name in that sense, he is simply the God of all creation and has never needed a name to give him identity. That is certainly what helps us discover identity. If I saw you haning out with a hot chick and asked "WHO IS SHE?" Youre going to tell me her name, what she does for a living, how you met, if shes related to you, etc. But God needs no identification like that because there is only 1 of him. (including Jesus and Holy Spirit) I think it is the world who traditionally likes to humanize God feels compelled to attach a name to him when he really doesnt need one anymore than you need a leesh, dogbowl, and fleecollar. (well maybe you do Im not ruling anything out)

God is a title. I am what I am, is not God's name. read in the king james bible ps 83 verse 18. it is Jehovah. Jesus Christ is not God, he is the son of Jehovah. yes he said you seen me you seen the Father, he was with Jehovah from the beginning. Jesus prayed to his Father in the heaven. www.watchtower.org
