For a school project I must make a container out of paper, but can use any material on the inside, and I need to make the egg survive a 13 foot drop.

I can't figure it out, and I'm allowed to use the internet to find out.

thanks,

JASON

Yo need to make a big cone and make sure its long and that it lands on ther tip. As the cone crumples it will slow the egg without any sudden force that might break it.

Drop it from a 14 foot height. After falling 13 feet, the egg will still be intact.

Okay, if that doesn't fit the rules, then try putting the egg inside some jello. Use the paper to make a box, to hold the jello. You will need about 6 inches of jello under the egg, and about 2 inches around it.

Soak your egg in Vinegar for 24 hours.

Your egg will becomes like a rubber bouncy ball - you will have no problem dropping your egg 13 feet.

On the other hand you could get a chicken, then drop the chicken the 13 feet, it will easily survive and just say that your egg is in the chicken.

Just pack as much insulating material as possible surrouding the egg. Ideally you want to use something that will absorb a lot of the energy. I would say use something that will crumple thus absorbing the energy and slowing down the speed of the impact. This is basically the concept behind crumple zones in cars.

Put the egg inside a large balloon. Fill the balloon (with the egg inside) with helium and tie the end of the balloon. Take paper (newspaper will work) and wrap it around the ballon containing the egg. It WILL work! Good luck.

Inside material can be foam rubber, styrofoam beads or peanuts, wadded up newspaper, jello, or ziplocks partially filled with water (if you fill them completely, then they will not absorb the enery, but will burst or break the egg).
Get a dozen eggs and start testing.
Good Luck!!!

Super glue it to a web of elastics.
Requires super stiff paper box around it! LOL!

Cheat use paper mache to build another shell.

Build a parachute.

attach a parachute at least as twice as big as the container. This will allow more time in the air, slowing its acceleration, therefore reducing the force as it hits the ground....good luck, god bless

Lots of bubble wrap, or some styrofoam packing peanuts might help.
