just don't respond to her at all. if she asks you a question or tries to get to to pay attention to her I'd say "I'm going over here now" and just turn your back to her. or start reading, people usually get the hint. if not tell the teacher that you want to be moved away from her

Well... I don't think you should tell her to keep quiet if she talks during class, because it's likely that you'll get caught and reprimanded by your teacher for that... so, during class, I'd just try to tune her out if I were you, because you're teacher doesn't seem to be helping. Telling her to 'shut up' wouldn't help because it might just give you a bad reputation. If you can't drown out her voice with your thoughts, then just turn around and give her a blank stare, whenever she asks you something. Don't respond, just give her an inquiring look with your eyebrows. If she is clever she might get the point. Good luck.

OMG! I had that problem before! This girl was so self-centered. When I kindly let her know that I would not want to be distrubed during class, she ended our friendship and started terrible rumours against me. (Quite honoured actually, never thought people would care.)

Now that I think about it, I should have handled it better.

I find that these chatter box are usually insecure. They are usually children of single parents or middle-child of a large family. They crave attention. You just have to find someone else who'll give them attention.

What I would do now is to pair her with someone else. (yeah, evil) Get her to chat to a loner. You might do good to the loner anyway. If you have international exchange student, even better. He/she might wanna learn listening English or learn local culture anyway.

Good Luck!

Ummm.. I dont think u can.. unless she gives a damn then dont even bother trying. I would say if anything it is up to teacher, and I would get more ppl to report to the teacher .. more numbers will give the teacher more of a reason to do something about it.

Good luck!

Ever see Kill Bill Vol. 2? Pull out her eyeball. Wait, that might make her scream too loud...
Try this - Tell her you have a secret you need to whisper. When she leans in, punch her in the ear. Hard too. Maybe hit both ears at the same time. Wait, then she will be deaf and louder...
Try this one - Grab her by the hair and tell her if she does not shut up, then your Uncle and his friends in the mob will "take care of her big, fat mouth".
Try that one

Wow from where I live the teachers in my school would have gotten her to be quiet by now. Since your teacher isn't doing anything about go to the Principal about the problem.

good luck with this one. unless the teacher takes notice & corrects the problem your kinda out of luck. i guess you could see if you could move further away from the chatter box. and maybe you could nicely explain to her that constant talking prevents you from concentrating. tell her you would really appreciate it if she could help you out.

If the teacher won't help, at least try to move away from her is this is possible. I know how it feels to be constantly disturbed when you are trying to grasp a subject.

Inform the teacher. The teacher SHOULD be able to handle the situation.
