So maybe you're not bipolar.. the fact that you think you might be should be reason enough to get you to see someone. It's negligent of your parents to deny you seeing a health professional.
Either 1 of 2 cases..
1) you are bipolar, and should see someone.
2) you're not bipolar, but for some reason think you might be, depression? seeking attention? doesn't matter, but you probably need to talk to someone anyway.
Don't focus on driving home the diagnosis, focus on the need to talk to someone in the medical field.

You sound plenty intelligent, so why not try making your own appointment with your doctor? Call the doctor and schedule an appointment for a check up. They always want to know WHY you are trying to see the doctor. Don't say, "to prove to my parents that I'm bipolar." Be honest and say you need a check up and you want to talk about your anxiety or depression, or whatever is bothering you.
Doctors don't like the patient to self diagnose, they want to know your symptoms. Regardless of WHAT is wrong, your parents should take you to the doctor for your symptoms like sleeplessness, anxiety, or depression. Don't tell the doctor you have bipolar disorder, just tell them your symptoms.
You should have a physical and complete blood work up. There is a chance that you have a medical issue that is making you feel the way you do. If your parents don't think you are bipolar or depressed, it would make sense that they want to find out what the problem could be, right?
If it's anything from anxiety to feeling of depression or everything else in between you need to tell the doctor all of that. I don't think you have to convince a doctor of anything, just be honest in how YOU are feeling, not how everyone else in your family feels. It needs to be about you and your symptoms.
Call your family doctor, and start there. Get an appointment with a general physician or internist, either of them can prescribe medication for you and monitor you. If you need to be referred to a therapist for talk therapy they can do that, but keep in mind most insurance companies do not cover much of the cost of psychotherapy.
I hope you get an appointment for a check up soon. At the very least your parents should take you in for a physical exam and then you can tell the doctor how you are feeling. You just need to get your foot in the door at the doctors office then you can tell them what's going on.
If you parents do not want to take you to the doctor, talk to the school nurse and a school counselor. They are usually safe reliable grown ups that can help. Again, just tell them your symptoms. Perhaps they would talk to your parents about taking you to see a doctor.

Just because you have different symptoms doesnt mean that you have or dont a bipolar disorder. Remember that you have to be diagnosed by the proper professional. These type of things can be pretty tricky because not everybody will or can have the same symptoms.

Lorraine, Good for you for recognizing your problem. Your parents are not your last option. If you are in school, talk to your teacher, council er,or nurse. If all else fails go to your local hospital emergency room, but please do not give up. Living with bipolar is tough under the best of circumstances, but manageable with medication. I sense you are a strong person, you will go far.The best of luck to you,Done That

Most parents would not like to admit it because they contributed the gene or they themselves my think that they have it. What is good is that you know what is going on with you. Go to the docs, do talk therapy. Your parents might take forever to come around so take care of yourself first and one of these days they will come out of denial.

If you focus on convincing everyone that you have bipolar then you will surly convince yourself that you have this so called disease. Why would you want to do that? Stop focusing on this negative issue and focus on something positive about yourself and this issue will go away. You have to believe this and I PROMISE you will not be bipolar!

I agree not every person has the same symptoms. If you are still living with your parents are you still in school if you are go to the guidance counselor and tell about this. They may be able to help you. If your not in school if you can get to the health dept. they can help.

In thee 9th grade, the teacher gave the class a questionnaire on epilepsy. I told the girl beside me that I am epileptic, but she didn't believe me. Two weeks later, in that very class, I had a grand mal seizure beside her.
