Sounds like you've gotten used to the fact that you have someone who is there for you only when you feel down. It's okay to flirt lightly with other people (I'm sure it's natural) but from what you wrote is sounds like you're only using your boyfriend to make you feel better and when you feel better you're directing you attentiosn to others. If that truley is the case, it's really unfair to your boyfriend and you should decide if you really want to be with him or should end it before you hurt his feelings.

you sound like you didn't have a healthy childhood. your need for your bf is what is questionable. where are your parents, girlfriends, your family? they are missing. why?
flirting in my opinion is a normal everyday occurrence, unavoidable. he probably does his own flirting, just not necessarily in front of you. one more question you can add in your comment details: does your bf yell, control, give you money or do u live with him. my guess, you feel sorry for your bf for some reason because you do not know how to love someone else. you have to love yourself before you can love another.

i think its because you have low self worth and you are codependent. you should try and do things to boost your own confindence, like things that make you happy and that your good at. try doing affirmations in the morning and thoughout the day. (repeating something to yourself while you look in the mirror, such as i am a beautiful, confident woman.) saying things like that to yourself enough times and you will eventually believe it.

Sounds like your co-dependant. I suggest reading the book Co-Dependant No More.

don't worry your boyfriend is a sap...just like Forrest Gump and you know things his momma said..

Life is like a box of chocolates.....you get a lot of nuts..?

Just take advantage of him but have a spare tire to have fun with on the side...as the sweetest fruit is at the end of the limb...
