About 2 months ago I started eating very healthy (organic produce, whole grains etc.). About two weeks later I started an exercise program and have slowly progressed to being able to do a pretty decent workout. I workout 4 days a week for around an hour to an hour and a half. I make sure that I have enough calories and that I get the correct servings of everything from the food groups and I get enough protein. I am also taking a good women's multi vitamin everyday. I have even lost 25 lbs (Yea me!!). My problem is I feel horrible. I am tired all the time and am constantly having cold-like symptoms like headaches and congestion. I should feel better than I ever have. My starting weight was 216 lbs and the foods I was eating are so bad I don't even want to talk about it! I had bloodwork done in December to check blood sugar, thyroid and iron levels and they were all fine. I've also had allergy testing and nothing showed up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

it may be that some of the body-fat changes have changed the pressures on your sinus cavity. have you tried flushing with saline to clear that out at all?

additionally, take a break from the workouts for 2-3 days...relax. see how you feel. you may just be overdoing it a bit.

hope you fell better soon.

Have you read anything about "cleansing reactions"? ...and the fact that when your body is detoxing in a major way, you'll feel less than healthy? Especially if you are used to eating bad stuff. I won't dignify it by calling it food. The toxins have to go back into the bloodstream in order to get out, so the increase causes some reabsorption. That is especially the case when one is killing an infection, or candida. That's probably why you have congestion, since the lungs, as well as the skin, are a major exit point for toxins. Often people with chronic bad breath are sustaining a yeast overgrowth in their GI tract. The toxins manifest by the odor in their lungs or BO or pimples/rashes. Also, organic food is chemical free, but you must look at the "life" of the food. The closer to nature, and less processed, the greater the nutritional value. If you eat raw foods you probably will not have to take enzymes to help digest them, as long as your intestinal flora is healthy.
As you continue to cleanse, the symptoms should clear up depending on the level of toxicity, and the cleansing affect of your diet.
Although if you do have a candida infection, you may not clear up until you quit eating sugars and starches, but you should have other symptoms that go along with a yeast infection. (Download free candida book; near page 70 for candida test.)
Just make sure you are rested. Some weight people work out every other day in order to heal and rest. And...make sure that you do not have stress or fatigue related symptoms that would address a thyroid or an adrenal deficiency. Most doctors will not find an adrenal deficiency, even if there is one. Look for a doctor that uses saliva testing for hormones. It's more accurate.
Also, I have found that there is benefit and energy to be had by good essential oils, such as unprocessed organic coconut oil. If you have the extra money, Himalayan goji juice has cell stimulating polysaccharides unique to itself. I have found it to enhance my weak adrenals to the point where I was able to discontinued taking hydrocortisone. The only thing that I haven't addressed is any place where you might be taking on any other toxins, from the environment, the work place, health and beauty supplies, your home, because basically, whether anyone believes it or not, the vast majority of health issues come from toxins in the the body. I know that we have been hearing this for 50 years, but it has played out in my life and people are starting to understand that putting drugs into our bodies is not benefiting us in the long run. It is just more junk for our weakened bodies to try to rid itself of. You can prove it out in your own life.
Best of luck.

That is indeed discouraging. If an ear or sinus infection is out of the question and you are otherwise in good health, the next place I would look to is your stress level. After 2 months you should really be past the "detox" stage. Perhaps you could try and work in something like a massage or a yoga class. But for what it's worth you have done some wonderful things for your health - keep it up, good for you!

You may be pushing yourself too hard. Relax have a bit of down time and make sure you get plenty of rest with that excercise. remember an apple a day keeps the doctor away!!^^
