You can give an equally true definition without being disparaging:

religion, (n.) an organized system of dogmas based or built upon belief in one or more claims of the supernatural.

That doesn't mean I pussyfoot around the gobbledygook - or should I say, bibledygook - of religion, but we need definitions we can all agree on. Even most of the religious would agree with mine.

The question then becomes, "Is there any veracity to claims of the supernatural?" (which, of course, there isn't).

The definition of religion is:"a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. "

Way to give me a thumbs down when I copy and pasted the answer from dictionary.com.

That is totally false as you will find in the internet/wikapedia. People who practice moral codes, express opinions communally about laws and order of mans existance are considered by definition to be religious. You are therefore expressing in your question religious bigotry.

Seems like you answered your own question there.
The dictionary defines it as follows:
NOUN: 1a. Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe. b. A personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship.

You are making your own false definition of religion which is intended to insult us who are in the religious sect Learn something from me whether you like it or not but this is the truth: RELIGION CAME FROM THE WORD LEGION WHICH MEANS GROUP OF MANY PERSONS TO GATHER TOGETHER FOR SOMETHING THAT IS GOOD FOR THEM, SO THAT RELIGION MEANS GATHERING OF MANY PERSONS TO GROUP TOGETHER IN THE STUDY OF THE TEACHINGS OF GOD AS WELL AS THE EXISTENCE OF GOD AND PREACHING OF THE WORDS OF GOD.
