depends on if they are long- or short-haired and how much they tend to shed. My cat has long hair and I only brush her once a day. But I don't think it would hurt a cat to be brushed more, and they love it so much!!

I have a cat who has the longest hair i have ever seen on a cat and i never brush him.He grooms himself all the time and he has a beautiful shiney coat that makes him look like a lion but brushing is enjoyable for cats so do it as often as you like.I don't brush him cos i am too lazy but i check for tangles every week. His tongue must be like a rake!

just once a day should do for any cat as with regualar daily brushing, you are removing any loose fur which can cause furball problems in cats when they come to washing themselves so wether he/she is short or longed hair it is helping these problems from cropping up,plus if he/she is long haired it prevents fur from becoming knotted.Once a day should definetly be enough.

if it is a long haired breed then once a day should be fine. if it is a short hair they don't really need brushing. i mean you can and the cat will probably enjoy the fuss!

i was just at the vet last week about this, as i have 2 cats, one short haired and one long haired.
Basically 2 a week is a good guide, but if they get out into the garden a lot and come back knotted you just have to keep an eye on their activites!

Once is more than enough. If you have a cat that sheds a great deal incest in a grooming glove and pat them with that a couple times a day, they love the attention and it helps keep the shedding down.

I do not usually brush my cats (even the fuzzy one) because they groom themselves quite frequently. Hairball prevention cat food is a good idea though.

i brush my cats once a week does a good job of removing any molted fur, you shouldn't do it too often as they have oils in theire
fur which they need
