Make sure yu have enough sleep that day, alot of water that day, eat a fried/greesy meal 1-2 hours before you start drinking - it coats your stomach, dont mix beer/wine/alchohol, drink slow and only drink until your lips are slightly numb - then STOP., drink water thru the evening so you are not dehydrated the next day - most of what a hang over is, is being dehydrated.,...and then if you can eat a small meal before bed. All these things will help you. It also helps to very slowly eat through out the evening while drinking, it soaks up some of the alchohol.
Dont drink and drive, but have a GREAT time! No kids want mommies that are completely stressed out and have no fun at all. Dont feel guilty for wanting to take care of your needs. It doesnt make you a bad mom and it doesnt mean you are neglecting your kids, it just means your human and want to take care of your needs of being an adult.... Have fun!!

Drink less as you can still have a good time with just a few drinks & sip them slowly so you don't suddenly become drunk without realising. It can help to eat a substantial but simple meal before starting drinking (not a spicy curry!) & have a glass of milk if you can. Also drink some water inbetween alcoholic drinks to avoid dehydration & make sure you don't stay up too late. If you are really sick from only a few drinks then it could be that you are intolerant to alcohol. I had to give up drinking altogether because of this. Just try to be sensible & keep your drinking controlled.

Well if you dont want to get drunk, but want to be social, I would just sip my drinks slowly from the start. To prevent a hangover you could either buy the chaser pills ( sold at most grocery stores and drug stores ) or what works great if you cant find chaser pills is eating a few crackers with honey on them. I always drink those vitamin water drinks after im finished drinking for the night and i never have any problems.

You've pretty much answered the question yourself - if you know you can't handle more than 2 drinks, don't have more than 2!

Just because other people are drinking lots of alcohol doesn't mean you have to do it too!

If you get to the end of the night and think you HAVE gone a bit too far, make sure you drink a pint of water before you go to sleep and that will help. Most of the effects of alcohol are caused by dehydration. Have some Alka Seltzer on standby for the morning and you should be fine.

You have two approachs. Don't drink at all, you can say its a new diet or your on tablets if your friends get sniffy. A great drink for this sort of thing (im in the UK ) is Appletise, because it looks like white wine and you tend to drink it slowly unlike other soft drinks. There are lots of soft-drinks available eg J2O range so you don't end up coked or pepsied out. There are usually low/non-alcohol beers and even ciders available in most pubs and bars.

Alternatively if you plan to drink, have a pint of milk to line your stomach. It really does slow down the absorbtion of alcohol. Decide to drink only one type of booze (mixing grape & grain really is bad news) and follow each drink with a soft one. I usually drink real ale but break up my sessions with pints of diet coke. Also look for lower alcohol drinks, do a little research in the supermarket, above 4.5% is high for Beer, Lager and Cider, above 13% high for wine. Most alco-pops are 5% per bottle. Finally when you feel the tip of your nose go numb stop drinking (its an early warning sign) and switch to sopft drinks. When you get home, drink plenty of water (at least a litre) and you wont feel hungover.

I learnt a long time ago that getting off your face on drink isn't big and isn't clever (unlike todays 20 nothings). You seem to be intimidated by alcohol, its all "scary falling down juice" to you. You need to educate yourself about the subject, Real Ales, the different styles and varieties of wine, delicious different flavoured liquers.

Realistically saying don't drink is not the right thing to say, but advising you to have a substantial meal inside you and to drink in moderation is the right thing. If you are going to drink why not settle for a white wine Spritzer(wine with soda water or mineral water) this way you will not feel left out but by the same token you ought not to get that hung over feeling drinking spitzer ....provding you don't drink more than you can cope with.

Have a fantastic time and enjoy a night out without the kids for once.

I'm the same i hardly ever drink, try to drink a glass of water in between every drink you have and if you feel yourself getting too drunk slow down or stop drinking. Also have something to eat before you drink so it soaks up the alcohol! Dont worry you'll be fine just go and enjoy yourself!

ok u have alot od suggestions, dont drink, do this. heres my 2cents.
I am in my early 30's, kids too, i am not tiny, bigger than the "average". If i have 2 drinks i feel it in the morning. if i have 3--oh yeah, dizzy, headachy.. all the good stuff. I am not a big drinker, but i do drink, & enjoy a glass of wine here & there throughout the week at dinner or night. this may sound bad, but having a few glasses throughout the week has helped me a bit in what i can handle.
drink water b4 u drink,
drink a glass water in between drinks
have a big meal b4 drinking
even ive heard have a glass of milk b4-coat the stomach
water b4 u go to bed
have a couple ibuprofen by the bed, take an hour or 2 b4 u get up
oh yeah--& NEVER mix!

do these work? ive tried them, but i just am a person who gets sick off a few drinks. so i choose to have 1 drink--occassionally 2, & i am happy with that. who wants to be sick. & like u said, u have kids to care for. u soulnd like u dont make a habit of this--so go & ENJOY yourself. No you dont need alcohol to enjoy yuorself but if that what your choosing & u enjoy it, go for it. Like I said i enjoy a good glass of wine. So be good to yourself, do something for you too--a happy you makes a happy mommy.

Always eat before you go out, lots of carbs.. I used to eat a whole pizza whilst i was getting ready, so your stomach is full.

Even better, order some potato wedges whilst out in the bar.

Never ever mix drinks, avioid white wine. That really gets me drunk, spinning head after effects etc.

And finally have some toast and sweet tea when you get indoors. What ever the time. as it helps soak up the alchol. .. Drink lots of water the next day to detox!

Just pace yourself once you start to feel that buzz, either stop drinking then or just sip a drink or two for the rest of the night. Also after the bar we usually go out to eat and that helps absorb the alcohol, and by the time I get home I go right to bed no spins,no problems!!
