I did this same thing 3rd day I had new computer with Vista LOL
You have to go to your desktop icons page and just tell it there you want to put one on the desktop.

Place a checkmark on "Recycle Bin".

Stevens answer is correct......what you should do after you restore it is move the bin to the other side of the screen so u don't drag other icons over it and delete them without noticeing. After you do that right click desktop and lock it.

Search for the word "recycle" and create a shortcut from the result onto your desktop

go back in to recycle bin and restore it
