I suppose it depends on how long you've been together and what the occasion is.
Personally, I like small surprises, especially those involving food. If you're a good cook, put together his favorite meal and surprise him. If not, make reservations at his favorite restaurant and if you can afford it, get picked up by a town-car or limosine.
If you have already developed a physical relationship, I don't know any guy that doesn't appreciate sexy underwear. So, if during dinner, you were to tell him what might be in store for him later....

The most Romantic thing in my opinion is to keep remind him of how much you are in love with him , and surprise him from time to time ,
you may ask your self how can i surprise him? i will tell you what my girl do for me and make me the happiest man !
first of all you must know that i live in UK and She Lives in Dubai(middle east)
some times she arranges my birthday party and invite me to a restaurant where the part will start by surprise!
some times i become very lonely because she is a way in Dubai, but suddenly i hear my door being knocked , i Run and open the door , then there she is giving me the biggest smile on earth !
once i have traveled to the far east Malaysia , when i was in the hotel with my family , guess who came along the next few days of our arrival , its her again,
i wasn't in love with this girl at all , in fact i hate her , or was , but after all these kind of surprises she made me love her despite a lot of differences between me and her

head!!!! day, night, driving, breakfast, after dinner, and at the movies, during the movies, and in the backyard. Trust me if a woman gives good head she can give the rest of the body to someone else. Why do you think black guys love white women. Sex can be found anywhere. that why married men cheat. Thats why preachers loose there job. If I had that type of woman I would never cheat and I am a truck driver.NEVER. Dont just think about yourself cause if you do right you will get flooded with what makes you happy, you just need to put in first. TRUST ME

On a beautiful day, set up a chair outside, a cooler with some beer in it, and let him sit there while you wash and detail his vehicle. Don't get bitchy when he says you missed a spot. And last but not least, dress in something a little provocative, you want him looking at you and not the car (as much).
That would be romantic for me.

well my guy thinks that everything i do for him is romantic!! i don't know where he gets that from as i don't think i've a romantic bone in my body. i guess the age old answer to this is feed him, they do say that the way to a mans heart is through his stomach

Just be there for him and show him how much you love him. Showing love is not a material thing. It's something that comes from the heart.

leave him little love notes in different places where you know he will find them.. example: under the sun visor in the car, in his pocket. on his windshield under the wiper blades, on his email.under his pillow, text his cell phone, where ever you think he looks everyday.. i do this and my husband loves it.. i surprise him all the time with note in places he wouldn't expect, my fav is i write i love you on a small paper and place it in his medicine bottle so he gets it when he takes his pills..
