and i cant load things from it that i need to fix errors that come up.. according to a google search i need to run certain things from my cd...
any way of getting a new 1 for free....
i have a friends xp cd but isnt that illeagal?

There is no such thing as free today! You can pay a few $$ usually and get a new recovery cd. I dont know exactly how legal it is, but aslong as you use your product key(provided it works on it) then you should be just fine.

I got a copy of XP from my local PC shop, cost me a tenner. I dont know how they get round the law but apperently its legal that way.

How damaged is it? Have you tried making an image and burning it to a blank CD-R?

(Alcohol 120% for CD images)

You need to contact the manufacturer of your pc, to get a new disc.

yeah you can use your friends xp disk but make sure you use your xp key
