Hi,

If you do speak English, Spanish is far easier than Chinese, not to mention that the ideograms and prononciation are specific.
You may become quickly discouraged from learning Chinese since you are going to progress slowly.

I ran through a chinese beginners lesson and understood (maybe I am wrong) that even a so called "ideogram" can mean several things depending on the context.

Chinese is mainly spoken in China & Taiwan, nowhere else.

Spanish is spoken in Spain, the US and most of Central & South America (except French Guyana and Brazil).
South America is also a fast growing market with dozens of millions of consumers.

I believe that the new generation of chinese businessmen speak good English and that most of the young educated people do so as well.
If you don't speak chinese and want to conduct business in China, simply use the services of a chinese native translator.

Conclusion: I would learn Spanish.
