No one really wants those cheesy engraved mugs, tie clips, cuff links, keychains, engraved flasks or anything else you see in those favor catalogues. I personally think they are all thoughtless gifts. Just because they are traditional doesn't mean they are good gifts.
Give your groomsmen something they will actually use! Give them a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant. Or a day of golfing. If they like liquor go and get them a bottle of a top shelf liqour. Look at the actual groomsman as a person. Think about what they like and give them something personal. Just because it has their initals engraved on it doesn't make it perosnal.
Give them something they will really use and not put on a shelf and never touch again.

Depends on what your groomsmen are in to. I've seen engraved beer mugs, baseball hats of favorite teams, bracelets, cigar boxes... just something that you know everyone will enjoy and you can buy the whole group the same thing

My hubby did what 'FireBug' suggested doing.

He knows his boys better than I do. So he said he wasn't getting any corny key chains, or beer mugs. So he personally sat down and made each of them CD's of artists they individually liked. It took time, but they really appreciated it cause guys like music, and music made for them is just the right touch.

He also got them liquor sets tailored to what they likes. Like, one of his friends only likes brown liquor, like Crown Royal. So his set was just that! He was stoked!

Just ask your hubby to be what his friends 'really' like, and go from there.

Congrats, and wish all goes well! ♥

If they are old enough, a gift set from the liquor store is good. Or if they don't drink, get each a CD.
