no. cheating commonly refers to forms of infidelity, particularly adultery. Although the definition of "adultery" seems to differ in nearly every legal system, the common theme is sexual relations outside of marriage, in one form or another. Common synonyms for adultery are unfaithfulness, having an affair, or in American colloquial speech, cheating. No this is not cheating. But it may be an "Inappropriate emotional intimacy". The partner being unfaithful may spend excessive or inappropriate time with someone of the opposite or same gender – time that is not being spent with an actual partner. He or she may confide more in their new “friend” than in their partner and may share more intimate emotional feelings and secrets with their new partner than with their existing spouse. Any time that an individual invests more emotionally into a relationship with someone besides their partner, an existing partnership may suffer. It depends on what the conversations are about and a lot of other stuff. Email is a normal every day event. I dunno.

It obviously depends on what the content of the emails is. And then it also depends on where you draw the line. If you think it is acceptable, it's not cheating. If you don't think so, it's cheating.
To me cheating is something very complicated, because everyone draws the line at a different point. Some people say a kiss is cheating, other people say you actually have to have sex to cheat on your partner but then there is the emotional part. You don't actually do anything tangible, but it can really hurt your partners feelings.
I guess you decide whether it's cheating or not.

Depends on the emails. Are they just talking or does it sound as if they have an attraction to each other. i have a friend I email a lot and his wife was concerned but we literally are just friends who met on a game and now talk occasionally. He loves his wife and I love my husband. No emotional committment. If a person in a committed relationship has an emotional attachement to a person I think that is cheating. If they just talk no its not cheating.

It really depends on whether or not it is offensive to the other person in the relationship. Each relationship has their own set of boundaries. If these are crossed, then there is a problem.

Some couples like to watch their spouses flirt with others, some don't want any one to ever look at their spouses. Life is different for everyone. If you tell your spouse that that bothers you, and they continue to do it, then yes, it can be a form of cheating.

depends on the nature of the emails. If they are personal then I consider it cheating. If it is just jokes and general stuff then not.

What is the content of the e-mails? If it's just her/him e-mailing friends to say hello obviously that is fine. If it's more than friendly content, I would consider that cheating. Emotional cheating.

If the e-mails have any expression of feelings, emotions, or having an online relationship then I definitely think it's cheating.
If it contains material that you aren't allowed to see, or she doesn't let you see them then it's probably inappropriate.

no its not cheating, emailing is just a way of communicating its only words. if they actually went and meet the person that they are emailing and something happend that would be cheating ... but i think emailing if fine.
