Hello. I was just curious, my fiance and I are getting married this fall. And this man has changed my life so much. I know its usually the best man/maid of honor who makes the speeches (which they still are) but I would also like to make a speech to let everyone know just how wonderful he is. Is this appropriate?

Of course it's appropriate! It's YOUR wedding so you should be able to do whatever you want. It is customary for the best man / maid of honor to prepare a speech but it is not unheard of for a bride / groom to give a speech, either. Congratulations and good luck!

Because it is your wedding you can do anything you want including your own speech. If you really want to do something different you could always make your love and admiration for your fiance part of your wedding vows. You could even do it as a surprise and plus you are still in front of all of your family and friends.

Good luck.

Honey, it's your wedding and you can pretty much do whatever you want!! I think it would be so touching if I were at a wedding and I heard the bride make a speech! Usually the focus is solely on the bride, and in toasting the man you love you are validating his position not only in the wedding, but in your life! Go for it!! *atta girl*

An alternative to making a speech at your wedding would be to make the speech at the rehersal dinner. Although I don't see anything wrong with making the speech , some others might, but its your wedding , do what you please.

Best of luck.

A speech at a dinner table probably wouldn't be...but you could do it another way...by showing a video where each of you said something about the other one on the pre-done video...that would be appropriate...you could tell how you met, etc.....

yes of course, but make sure that the speech is not too long (no more than 3 minutes). Also, I'm sure everyone knows he is wonderful, after all, you are marrying him ^_^

Yes. That is the day you are expressing your love for one another for everyone to witness, so I think it would be totally appropriate.

Hey! You should go for it and tell your man how much he is blessed your life! Many women do not do that stuff, and I think they should cause I think men love for their women to tell them how much they are loved. Make it so beautiful that everyone cries.

yes but if you want everyone to hear it you could do it when you get to read the vows. It is your special day so if you want to do it at the reception then do it.
remember it is your day so do your dreams
