my daughter and i volunteer at the local animal shelter and puppies there as young as 2/3 months are given treats or goodies...there are some very small dog treats they can easily eat or to be safe, we break them into small pieces.

We started at around 2 months. Try some dog chocolate drops at first before moving on to the richer stuff. Use them as rewards rather than just a treat, otherwise when you do use them as a reward for good behaviour, they will not have much of an impact.

As soon as you get them. Just remember that if you are doing a training session and give many treats, don't feed the next meal. Treats are a source of food and too much food can make your pup overweight. There are many treats out there formultaed just for puppies.

Depend on the treats. Small treats such as snall pieces of kibble (yes kibble can be used as a treat) can be given as early as 4 weeks. Larger treats should wait intil 6-8 weeks

when the pup is 2 months old! this is the apt time becoz their teeth and gums become sufficiently strong! also at this age they gradually start understandin that a treat means some trick has to be done!
