well for one a DVD is just something you can watch you can't actually download a DVD unless you have the proper software.

the other thing is Windows Vista is a Operating system which is only been out but 2 weeks. Operating systems can only be installed on main hard drives or the computer will not work with it. a usb hard drive is only secondary and used manly to store pictures, small software like games and small programs. and if your computer is far enough up to date and you have the right software videos and DVDs.

if you want to just install Windows vista on to your primary hard drive normally you can just place the CD in and follow the on screen instructions. if it don't have auto run put the CD in your CD drive and then restart the computer. during restart it'll ask if you want to start from CD rom drive or hard drive using the keyboard either push the number beside the CD rom disk drive or just hit down to highlight it and then hit enter. if you can not do it hire a professional computer programmer.

Please note if your computer does not currently have Windows XP with service pack 2 on it Windows vista will not work. and before you try to install it move all music or video files to your secondary hard drive.

I hoped I helped
