Anyone know at what level the fuel light in the 2006 Mustang V6 comes on? I was just curious, it allegedly has a 16 gallon tank, and if I fill up when the light comes on, it usually only takes 13 gallons or so...

you have 35-50 miles left to gas up they usually only hold 2-3 gallons once down past the low fuel level indicator. the tank has a bowl shaped area where the fuel pickup is at. this is the reserve tank. the rest of the tank is the 10-11 gallons. I have owned a dozen stangs and most all them had 13 gallon tanks.

Most cars will WARN of low gas eventhough the tank still has about 3-5 gallons,

It's kind of a saver for the folks who see the light and still keep driving until they run it dry and then have trouble with injectors and filters and so on.

See the light?

When the light comes on, you have approximately 40 miles left to drive. If it's rush-hour traffic you could have a lot less so do be careful.

I've owned 12 mustangs so I'm kind of used to how they work.

the only sure fire way to find out is to drive around with a gas can in the trunk and drive it until it runs out
