I had a fever of 102 two days ago, and then that went away in about twelve hours. It felt like a severe cold with chills and all that, but yesterday I was alright, I just lost my voice. Today, I cannot talk at all, I have aches and pains, and my fever has returned. I have a lot of mucus in my mouth as well. Does anyone know what this may be??

I live in Texas and my son started out by just running a very low grade fever off and on for 2 days. The fever stopped but his throat got worse. There is a weird ordeal of strep throat going around. People aren't running the normal HIGH fever that is usually seen with it. Therefore the children are going back to school after they don't have fever and they are still contagious unless they have been started on antibiotics already. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

It sounds a lot like influenza so I would go see a doctor. The flu (the REAL flu, not the stomach flu) has symptoms of chills, body aches, fever, fatigue, and respiratory symptoms such as the ones you've described.

Sounds viral, but getting checked out by a M.D. is a good idea. Flu, scarlet fever, pink eye, 'stomach flu', everything seems to be around this year. Doc can at least get you something to help with the symptoms.

Its a virus that has been going around and its nasty. It lasts forever and you think its the flu but no vomiting or no but crud. Youve got to go to the doctor and get antibiotics first off and I dont know what else they will give you but they gave me cough med with decongestion meds and an inhaler. Getting well will take atleast a week or two before completely over it. Its bad stuff.
