I found my adopted son via the details on his birth certificate. I struck it lucky and found him in 2 phone calls. We haven't met yet, he lives in another state with his adopted family, but he's happy and he's okay, and will meet when he is ready to do so.

I haven't actually met them in person, but I'm in contact with some long-distance relatives I never knew existed before who live in Australia. I posted on the boards at Ancestry.co.uk about a family living in London in the 1800's with the surname Torbuck and I got an email from this couple. Basically the wife is the great granddaughter of the brother of my great-great grandmother. It is interesting to find people like this and we've learnt some more family history from each other.

My husband real sister got in touch with us through the red cross, we met his real siter, brother and his mother too.
It did go really well, but then his mother died, and we have not been able to get intouch with his brother or sisiter. They have both moved, and we lost their addresses.
It is a shame as he really would like to get to know then more, he wished he had tried harder, but he is pleased that he meet his real mum.

Friend of mine's Mum met a brother she hadn't seen in 40 years just recently. They got on like a house on fire.
