if you ask the universe for something and do everything in your power to make it happen for years and years and years. is it possible you are blocking it in some way? how do you find out if you look for the answer inside yourself and you don't know?
please don't answer this unless you get an intrinsic feeling you have a wise and helpful answer. i don't want to wade thro lots of things that are very basic or mean nothing to me.

No. I am talking about something that i believe is spiritual. i have had a weird thing happening to me for 8 years now like groundhog day. the same situation repeats and reapeats exactly the same way. it's very specific. i am not looking for external verification of an issue that can be resolved internally. the only spiritual input i have had is that i must be blocking what i want in some way which makes sense. but where do i go from here?

If you beleive the universe can give you something why are you out there even trying to make it happen? If you really beleive the universe can give you something then sit back and wait - if you try to get it by your own powers it won't happen.
If you are a christian I would probably tell you what you are asking for is not God's will.

The universe runs according to something like a mechanical process - according to fixed laws|
To get something by asking, you have to ask a *person* - as a person is defined as a being with conscious intellect, free will, understanding, discrimination in decision making, and being the subject of rights and responsibilities - people, angels, and God fall under the definition of "person."

Asking the Universe for something is like asking a Tree. The Universe cannot give you anything as it is NOT alive. Did you word the question right?

"ask the universe for something" seems to conflict with "do everything in your power to make it happen". You either ask and hope you get it, or you work to make it happen.
"ask the universe for something" to me is insanity. "the universe" is not an entity that grants wishes.
If you do everything in your power and it still doesn't work out:
- maybe you're doing it wrong (this could include, as you suggest, hindering yourself)
- maybe it's just not possible (and then maybe not now, or not ever)
- maybe you're just unlucky and you should try again

Human being has no power to ask the whole universe about what you are saying which is nonsense because you could not possibly do it.

I think this is more a matter of wishful thinking and the things that you want, or answers you are seeking, you are really asking yourself and subconsciously looking for in life.

The universe can give you nothing---only God gives because he made the universe. Asking the universe instead of God is liking asking the pot instead of the potter.

I think you are having recurring deja vu experiences... if it happens too often, your temporal lobe in your brain might be behaving abnormally. Thats exactly where the brain is hard wired to believe in God. Are you hyper religiose? May be its a sezure. may its worse...
