XP Won't come out of StandBy Both Kb & Ms checked?

Must pull plug or hold button to shutdown then restart. Also messes up LAN propertys. Where would you look to solve it? Could it be hardware?

Try
Start/Control Panel/Power Options
Check Power settings.
Also Click Advanced:
"when I press the power button "
Select Shut Down.
