Ok you bought your mom a pencil for her birthday, now this is the women that spend hours in labor giving you life and you buy her a pencil....well she called you a selfish pig for a reason now im going to give you some advise leave the pencil at home go get some roses and a nice locket that has mom on the front then go to the card section pick out a card and then before you go over write mom I know I make mistake but im glad you forgive me and I want you to know I love you and thank you for giving me the greatest gift of all LIFE love(insert your name). and then you give her the gifts hugg her and look her in the eye and repeat I love you mom I would be lost without all your love and caring.
good luck.

Why only a pencil? Can you not afford to take her out rather, other than that - it seems you are selfish. At my age (39) I still go all out for my mom, even If that means I might have to go without food for a few days, I would be nothing - NOTHING!!! without my mom. My son (18) also likes to buy me small gifts ie: soft toys etc, WHICH he pays for with his money he gets for doing odd jobs, I in return - drive him to his girl etc, he is saving for a car now, in S.A you may not drive until you are 18. Try spoiling your mom a bit more,

pencil? gee, last of the big spenders! How about you throw the pencil in the bin and take her out to dinner instead and give her a bottle of perfume all nicely wrapped up? Thats' what I'd do, if i still had my mum

Yes it will, how ungrateful can she get, particularly as you may buy her a sheet of paper that she can write on for Christmas.
I think you're just being too extravagant with this woman. Forget that she bore you, raised you, probably gave you every last penny from her purse and put her own life on hold for you - I think you are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT to withhold half a pencil.
That'll teach her!
