when you like someone you don't necessarily ave to tell them especially if they are of the same sex.
You can just sho wit in the way you behave around him
You will have to be around for him and try to share stuff with him
You can also tell him indirectly and sincerely. Like when he has stuck up for you you can tell himm" i really appreciate you being around for me. i don't know what i would have done without you'
but you have to be a man about it.As this will keep him from getting spooked.
