The Yorkshire Dales covers quite a large area and you could base yourself at any one of several towns and explore the surroundings from there. Possible towns include Grassington, Malham, Skipton, Hawes, Settle, Leyburn, Horton in Ribblesdale, Ingleton and Sedburgh. All these places have hotels and guest houses although it would be a good idea to book in advance.

The sites below include details of accommodation and lots of places to go...

There's a lot of different things to do but the main attraction of the Dales is the natural scenery and a couple of places that are certainly worth visiting are Goredale Scar and Malham Cove, the two are easily accessed from Malham Village.

One thing to bear in mind, if the weather is nice there will be a lot of tourists and the pubs, restaurants and visitor attractions will be busy.

I absolutely love Arkengarthdale, a little village called Langthwaite, its near Tan Hill (highest pub in the uk), you can visit Hawes, Aysgarth and the scenery and walks are outstanding. I absolutely love the CB Inn (dont worry, I have no conection to it) The food is fantastic and the beer is lovely. If you haven't tried the beer (not lager) then give it a go.

I would well reccomend it. I love the area been about 5 times.
