If you mean emulsion, then Johnstone Leyland centre. Brands at DIY shops are dear and trying to put their own brand on is like painting with piss. You will find 2 coats of Leyland paint will do the job. If you need white or magnolia, get Super Laytex. Ask at the Leyland branch if you can have trade discount. False economy to put cheap on.

Wilkinson's sometimes have a nice cheap range or you could try a pound-shop sometimes they have some really good paints decorating tools and brushes. Also the big supermarkets also do a small cheap range.

they all charge roughly the same depending on what paint you want they stock fair few brans,i will say homebase own brand is really good and not bad in price,stay away from b&qs own paint its like water and cost u more in the long run and prob have to do 4 5 coats its crap but thats my opinion.wilkos does sell paint and ok prices not much choice though.good luck findind it

But, heres how to recognise the best value....
If you take two identically packaged tubs of paint, the best paint is the one which weighs more.... it has more pigment in it.
