sorry for the bad experience you had, i know how you feel.

they smell so bad becasue they dont look after them selfs, and all the sweat they produce, produce bacteria and the bacteria is the thing that stinks

or maybe it was his breath

did you ever think he might have an actual medical condition..thyroid problems can cause people to be overweight.excessive sweating and smelling and depression..maybe this man knows he smells and going out in public for him may be a major issue for him because of people like you judging him..how do u know he didnt think much of himself..did you go talk to him???i doubt it very much because you were so repulsed by him..how would u feel if some day in the future u were in this situation and someone treated you that way?i doubt you would appreciate it..and it would be very hurtful

Aside from all the fabulous answers you've already received can I just add one little thing?? Bad body odour is also caused by a deficiency in Vitamin B12 and Zinc. Foods rich in B12 are Yeast, liver, beef, eggs, kidney, pork, milk, cheese and fish. Zinc rich foods are whole grains, wheat bran, wheat germ, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds.

The daily recommended allowance for B12 is 2mcg and Zinc is 12 - 15mg.

Some people I suppose really don't have any idea how to properly care for their body. It's very sad.

I guess it would be helpful if you described the smell. Sour? BO? Breath? The possibilites could be:
1) hygiene issue - lack of washing or aromatic products (deodorant)
2) access issue - he could be homeless, unable to get to a shower
3) non-serious medical issue - overactive glands, which can be corrected
4) life choices - clothes not washed, also could be access issue (above)
5) serious medical issue - infection (bacteria cause many of the bad smells we don't like to be near)

Mostly because they don't clean under the folds of their skin and bacteria builds up in there. Size does not relate to stink, just hygenine. They may think they are clean, but they can't reach all of themselves. They need to get into ALL of the nooks and cranny's.

If he looked dirty, then he was dirty, hence the bad smell. Sometimes if people are depressed, they loose the motivation to look after themselves properly. Maybe this guy was one of those, or maybe he was just plain lazy.

maybe this person was never taught to bath or shower every day and that with people like you sniggering or moaning behind his back is doing nothing for his confidence, this is one world would you rather have him in your shop or a paedophile think about it does it matter really

There are reasons why people don't take care of themselves, for some it's a symptom or depression and lack of self respect & some are just plain lazy and don't care.

toxins, lack of personal hygiene, depression, and bad food decisions. you can stop all smells by eating parsley or blue green algae and other health food items that remove and filter toxins.
