Guys always get confused by this, while women wonder why all the confusion? The answer is, we like both in one body.
We want you to be tough when the situation requires and to be sweet and romantic when you are alone with us. Too much of one or too much of the other is not good.
It's like how men want a woman to be. They want her to be feminine and polite, with good table manners, right? But does that mean she has to be so extremely "girly" that she won't kiss you because it would mess up her lipstick, she won't go anywhere that won't allow her to go in heels, she won't do anything that might cause her to break a nail?
You also want her to be fun, to be able to go to a game with you, to be able to have fun with you and your friends. But does that mean she should be one of the guys to the point that she burps the alphabet and can fart like one of the boys? See, those are extremes, and who wants that?
So we want a guy to be able to be strong when the situation calls for it (that's strong...not macho, not confrontational, not some jerk who picks a fight because someone looks at us). And we want him to be gentle and romantic when it's just the two of us.
Make sense?

I like a mix of both. I like a tall strong man that can be real macho and manly, but I also like a man that knows how to be sweet and romantic when the time is right.

I'll take romance any day. Tough is good when its called for, macho is an act. But a true romantic, thats something every woman wants. Not girls, but women.

u can make a hot macho boy a little romantic but overly romantic guys cannot be made macho! I prefer to start off with macho, my guy isnt, but hey, that just proves there are always exceptions! However, the constant romance can get annoying...sometimes I wish he was just all protective of me and stuff.

A combination of both is the ideal but if the tough macho guy is insensitive then I guess the romantic guy will do.

neither as such, both could be too much.
Just down to earth, reliable and trustworthy. Some romantic tendencies are definitely desirable, tough macho is out but strong character is in. Good sense of humour is great, so is a healthy lifestyle.

I like a guy that can stand up for himself and thats not a push over..macho outside... but to knock it on the head when you get home.. then you want.. a sweet caring honest guy to love you the whole night through..
someone thats honest caring and considerate... and that shows an un conditional heart... that must be you.. because you seem to care what someone thinks..
good luck..
