Halifax has pretty good weather - the climate is moderated by the impact of the Atlantic ocean. The best time of the year is the late summer and early fall. You usually have warm days and cool nights. It can get hot, but never for very long - you don't need air conditioning in Halifax. Winter usually begins in earnest by late December or January. The winter storms can be intense, with lots of wind and lots of snow. But it doesn't get as cold as it does in other parts of Canada. It can snow one day and rain the next. Lots of wind! Spring tends to be short and wet. Still get snow in April and sometimes May.
