THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE CHRISTIANS.

so you would have prefered three million Japanese civilians dead in the continued incendiary and area bombing involved in a conventional invasion of the Japanese home islands, and the soviet occupation of the northern islands of japan, rather than two hundred and fourteen thousand dead in the atomic bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. sometimes in war it comes down to a pure utilitarian decision of which weapon will win the war with the lowest number of casualties. even though some senior american military officers, including eisenhower opposed the bombing, the japanese 'peace party ' only overcame the military after the bombings.
Kōichi Kido, one of Emperor Hirohito's closest advisors, stated: "We of the peace party were assisted by the atomic bomb in our endeavor to end the war." Hisatsune Sakomizu, the chief Cabinet secretary in 1945, called the bombing "a golden opportunity given by heaven for Japan to end the war." The pro-peace civilian leadership was then able to use the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to convince the military that no amount of courage, skill, and fearless combat could help Japan against the power of atomic weapons. The cabinet made a unanimous decision to surrender and accept the terms of the Potsdam agreement.[46]

so it was a case of not using them and more people dying or use them to end the war quickly. america was at war with japan after japan attacked america. as far as i'm concerened this is one point where america cannot be criticised.

Christianity is a personal and individual belief between an individual in their God. Although nations may follow Christian principles that does not really make the nation a Christian nation. So your question is really not answerable.
You do really need to study a little history about the Second World War though because you are very ignorant of what really happened. That nation had to be stopped at all cost. The first bomb that was dropped killed about 75,000 people. Japan had killed over 30,000,000 people just in China alone many of whom were children and women who were tortured to death and thrown off of cliffs. I am assuming that you are not old enough to have lived back then and so you are forcing a 21st century mentality into a society that you know nothing about. Please do some reading and try to understand what it was like back then.

Oh, do you mean the ones who saved a million casualties on both sides from a pending invasion of Japan? Or are you referring to the same "terrorists" who defeated Tojo after Japanese troops raped and pillaged Asia? To whom do you suggest you are defending?

I am aware of a quote made by one of the heads of the Manhattan Project which was begun in 1942 to create the A-bomb. Robert Oppenheimer, once he saw the initial test blast, he quoted the "Bhagavad Gita" (Hindu for "Song of God"): "And Vishnu said, 'Of weapons, I am the thunderbolt.'"

As for the religious preferences of the flight crews, I would not know.

We were attacked then also. We had already killed more of them in conventional warfare than we killed with the two bombs. You start the war you don't get to call those you attack terrorists.

When are you planning on blowing yourself up coward?

Terrorists have no religion. They believe they do but all they're practicing is a perverted form of what they erroneously believe is a path to whatever God they worshiped as a child or found as an adult.

And Hiroshima has two 'i's and no 'e'.

They were not terrorist they were soldiers and what they did saved more lives than it took. A full on invasion of Japan would have cost millions of lives.
