Gold (cappuccino) is a great color and surprisingly, orange is a nice compliment to it. If your not loving the Orange as a color for the attire, try a chocolate or mocha color, as that will be a great compliment as well. I think chocolate or mocha will be your very best option here, but if you do not like that idea you can always go with an olive color. You want to stick with exotic colors when using gold, orange or cappuccino. So basically stick with chocolate, mocha, olive or sage (a silver like color).

Good Luck.

Have him wear like a champagne color tie/vest. As long as it's the same hue of color(bright, muted, etc) then any variation of brown will go. A bit more daring is to look on a color wheel and find the kind of color your dress is, then look directly opposite and that is the "complementary color." Usually the complementary color of golds and browns are blues. If you go with a cappucino dress then blue would look very elegant. I hope this helps! Good luck!

He could wear a traditional black or charcoal grey coloured suit, with perhaps a tie with an orange pattern??

have you looked at a deep chocolate? it looks black in low lighting and would look great in pictures with your dress color.
Blessings!

Maybe creme color? or traditional.
Victoria Beckham did the whole goldish creme color with her husband.
