You need to study History a bit and not in some muslim extemist magazine. the UN authorized the invasion of Iraq. Regardless of the UN's decisions The US has the world economy to secure.

I wonder what country you live in?
WWII took 5 years after the U.S. entered.
WWI was a stale mate until the U.S. entered.

Wars are not fought on a time table. The President said this would be at least 10 years when it began. I am sure this will continue for at least 7 more.

It takes time to win the peace. It cannot be done in one day, one week or one year.
Doing something worthwhile takes time, effort and unfortunately in this case lives.

Would you prefer to have the U.N. get out of Iraq and allow the Islamic Fundamentalists take the country. The Kurds will be removed from the map. The Iranians will be running Iraq. They will then move into Saudi Arabia and take the entire middle east.
There will be no Israel.

If the above should happen, it will be necessary to fight a larger war and it will involve each and every country on this globe.

Lets finish the conflict where it is. Let time pass and the soldier to do their jobs. UNTIL Congress wakes up and backs the soldiers, this will drag on.

You talk as if the USA sit down one day and just simply decided that they would go to war out of having nothing better to do !! You are somehow convienently forgetting the time after time after time that the U S was attacked by Muslum extremists LONG before we ever entered the Middle East with troops !!
There have been countless Embassy bombings--- a major bomb attack on a "peace-keeping" contingent of Marines in Lebanon -- a murderous attack on a vessel named the USS COLE and many many others not to but mention the trade towers on 9 /11 NOW I ASK YOU___DO WE NEED THE PEOPLE DOING ALL OF THESE THINGS ??? And, just how do you stop Waring Factions attacking you covertly without at some point having to take up arms against them ??
Granted, Iraq is not on most Americans wish list to be involved with these days anyway---it is mostly the present administration's dogged determination to "prove a point" that has us there---yet today !!! Most of the citizens within the country have felt that we had done our job and reached the proper time to exit some months ago--- not out of any sense of defeat whatsoever--- just out a the raw point that there wasn't much else positive to accomplish there besides shoring up a factionally devided "government" !!!
One thing clear here ----Don't come at us and spill our blood and then raise bloody hell when we come to kill !!!

WWI was supposed to be the war to end all wars, but a generation later, we were fighting once more.

Hey, we are still in Germany, and Korea for that matter.

Yes, USA is very ego and annoying, they should just mind their own business and get lost from Middle east. No one likes them, at least most of the countries.
