Sounds like conjunctivitis - inflamation in the eyes which causes them to be very sticky, especially first thing in the morning. Take him to the doctors, he'll need some special drops/cream, but until you can get there, bathe his eyes with luke warm water and a cotton wool ball. Be careful not to touch your own eyes after doing this as it is contagious.

If the eyes are pink and watery he prob has conjunctivitis,- it is an inflammation of the mucous membrane that lines the inside of the eyelid and covers the front of the eye. The condition is usually caused by by an infection that may be bacterial, viral or caused by the microorganism Chlamydia. A number of drugs are used as an eyedrop form, depending on the cause.

probably conjunctivitis - boiled cooled salted water with some cotton wool gently wiped around an eye, new cotton wool for each eye. Boil wash his towel, flannel pillow case etc and make sure he only uses his own - it is VERY contagious! If this does not make him more comfortable within a couple of days, take him to GP who will prescribe cream or drops - and good luck getting that in to any self respecting 2 year old...!!

my son is 19mos old and has allergies, so he has a runny nose alot. its usually clear, but when he gets a cold, its green and as his sinuses become congested, it starts coming out of his eyes as well as his nose. the doctor just calls it a "cold in his eyes"! Use a warm washcloth to gently wipe it off. this will cuase them to be slightly red for a little bit as it can be difficult to clean the eyes. if it is conjuctivits, or pink eye, his eyes will become really red and itchy and it will be very contagious.

sounds like a cold like virus. kids with runny noses sometime rub their lovely nasal secretions into their little eyes and give them a bit of an infection. bless them
try bathing with cooled boiled water, wiping from the inside of the eye to the outside with cotton wool and use a fresh piece of cotton wool each time. hope this helps.

My guess... as he sleeps the snot from his nose gets into his eyes, so his eyes are working, making more tears to clean them out, which doesn't work well, baby may get "cold in his eye" It really just has to run it's course. I would still call the doc, it could be pink eye, but I doubt it.

Sounds like he may have allergies or some kind of infection going on. The sticky eyes sounds like pink eye. I'd have this checked ASAP as it's highly contagious.

It could be a touch of conjuctivitis but may just be a nasty cold. Wipe them regularly when sticky with warm water that you have boiled and let to cool a while and encourage him to blow his nose often.

Cold in the eyes or pink eye, Wash with a cool cloth. If no relief, it could be allergies. Check with a DR if you must.
