my sister stopped eating meat and dairy and lost 10 lbs within a week and a half. i on the other hand just started something i read in a magazine and ive lost 6 pounds in 3 days. its called "dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner". one women made it up on her own and lost 100 lbs, even without working out. it makes since that we would need a bigger meal in the morning because we'll need tose calories throughout the day and less for dinner because you will be relaxing and going to bed soon.

You will most likely lose a lot of weight at first naturally and then drop off. It's not healthy to lose more than 2 lbs a week, but when you're starting at a high weight, it's just natural to lose more when you start a diet/exercise program.

If you want ideas for another DVD set, I bought Gilad's Quick Fit System and it has done wonders for me. It includes 3 cardio DVDs and 4 sessions of strength training - abs, chest & back, shoulders & arms, and hips, thighs, and buns. He lays out a schedule each day for which workout to do so there is no question. It also comes with an "Eat Right Now!" plan that talks about which foods are best for you and which ones to avoid. The whole set is $70 or so on his site, but I got it for just over $50 on eBay.

I know it's not a huge jump, but I went from 162 lbs in July down to 135 now. My boyfriend's mom used to be a model back in the day (she's 6' tall and slender) and when I saw her look better in a bathing suit than I did .... that's what got me started on a diet overhaul!

Good luck! Don't get yourself down if you have a day where you want to eat bad or not exercise. Healthy living isn't a destination ... it's a journey!

2 pounds a week is very difficult, especially if you have impared mobility at your weight. If you set goals that are easier to achive (like 1 or 1.5 pounds a week) you will have more reasonable expectations and it will be easier to stay motivated.

You know the only thing that always works for everyone: diet and exercise. By diet I mean lower calories in general, regardless of what you eat. You are about to join Curves and about to get your DVDs, but that is different from maintaing a consistent habit for the next 12 months. It is a consistent habit of over-consumption that got you to 211 lbs, and it will only be a new consistent habit of diet and exercise that will get you down to 118. Buying things or joining gyms does not lose 93 pounds. Day in, day out, being mindful of your diet and consistently exercising will lose you 93 pounds. Look at everything in your life... what you eat, what you do, how you go through your day. Decide on what you are going to change and stick with it.

I lost a hundred pounds (280 to 180) and didn't use a gym membership (although that would have been ok too). I kept track of my diet, paid attention to what I ate at all times, and ran around a park near my house 3-4 times a week. It really sucked at first and it took me a long time, but the more weight I lost the more motivated I was too keep it up. You will exeperience the same thing. Relying on things you buy that are supposed to get you to lose weight will only depress you in the end, when they fail. Only you will get you to lose weight. You don't have to buy yourself. You already have you!

Don't think about it too much just show up at the gym everyday. Even when you don't feel like it. Diet and intense workouts are fine but Ive found that consistency is the key. Its more important that you show up everyday than the intensity of your workouts. Eat healthy foods but if you get too restrictive with your diet you will never maintain the weight loss. Personally I wouldn't try to rush it. A lifestyle of eating healthy and daily workouts will result in better health and weight loss although it is doubtful you can lose that much that fast without taking amphetamines or other drug.Good Luck reaching your goals.

Okay, you didn't gain the weight overnight, so stop expecting to lose it fast! Weight lost over a longer period of time, by gradually changing your eating habits and increasing your activity will result in permanent weight loss!

I lost 35 pounds in 6 months this way, anad have kept it off for over a year. Reading Oxygen magazine was a bit help for me...lots of excellent nutrituon aand exercise information really motivated me. I made changes one or two at a time. For example, I started eating breakfast regularly, usually oatmeal with skim milk and Suar Twin. Instead of sweets, I ate an apple and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, or a banana with a tablespoon of peanut butter for a snack.
Lunch and supper was some sort of lean protein (chicken breast or fish), cooked veggies and a salad with diet dressing. I ate every 3-4 hours so I was never hungry. Once I started to eat healthfully, and exercised 5 days per week, the weight came off. By eating healthy, I was able to eat enough to never be hungry, which really made a difference. Also, after a few weeks of not eating sweets, your body doesn't even crave them anymore. I didn't miss them and hardly ever even want them any longer. Now, I do eat desserts once in a while, but they no longer rule my life!

If you do slip, don't beat yourself up, just go right back to your healthy eating and exercise plan. Do NOT use it as an excuse to go crazy and eat everything in sight!

And set some goals...I would promise myself a little gift every 5 pounds I lost!

Oh, and keep a food journal of everything you eat...it really works! (I still keep a food journal...it helps me keep the weight off for good)

I suggest that you try body cleansing. I tried it and really got lean quickly. I lost 15 pounds in 9 days and also 3 inches off my waist. I do body sculpting so getting leaner was my goal. My sister did this program too and she lost a lot of weight quickly. I did not know too much about cleansing but there are a lot of TV commercials about this stuff. This is a body cleanse and not just a colon cleanse, I wanted my body to get lean quickly and this did the trick! I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
