no! No one walked me down the aisle and I'm just as married. I love the idea of using your son. I think it would be very sweet and special. Congrats.

I think letting your son be an active part of your wedding is great! It will make him feel as tho he is being included. I'm marrying in May and my children(girl,22 and boy,13) are both walking the aisle along me and I feel honored! If it were me, I'd want a pic of it too!
Best wishes for a memorable wedding!

The tradition of someone walking you down the aisle is they are "giving you away"...something like property. This person NEEDS to be someone you can rely on and has a VERY special place in your heart. It sounds like your son is the perfect candidate for this!!

No, you can walk down by yourself or with your son. I married in 2003 and I chose to walk down the aisle alone. I believe that it will be very nice to have your son walk you down. That's very sweet!

you dont have to have anyone walk you down the aisle, the only thing that sprung to mind when you said have your son do it was--it is traditionally the brides father because it symbolises him "giving her away" to her new husband, handing over the loving and looking after to another man, is this really what you want to have perceived, its a sweet thought and your son should play a MAJOR part, i just dont know what i would do

Vicky it's your wedding, you can have anyone you want walk you. Having your son would be fantastic - my 16 year old daughter is my maid of honor.

You don't have to have anyone walk you down the aisle.
If you want your 5year old to do it, that would be SO cute!
