It is so hard to understand that you need divine guidence to undersand it. Or are you so stupid that it's beyond your limited comprehention?

THE WAR WRENCH - I'm sorry what english do you speak? I said it right. I didn't ask about "saying a prayer before reading it", I ment pray. You see pray is an action, prayer is a noun. Next time you bash me make sure your right.

There's nothing in the book that says that any one needs to do any thing before reading the bible.
I used to think that one had to because i was being misinformed by very well intentioned people. The words themselves are supposed to be the divine guidance. I shouldn't need ten thousand instructors.
The majority of supposedly bible-only 'churches' don't believe any book called the bible. Brainwashing begets the brainwashed.
From reading the old english bible, and life experience, i've learned that there is no one-size-fits-all rule for how the books are to be read. Yes, allegorical interpretations are permitted by the bible itself.
Beliefs about Jesus held by other world religions are represented in the bible as a whole.
No thought police. Please and thanks.

No, Jews and Muslims are told it's good to pray before reading their holy books, too. It's basically so your heart is into it. Prayer puts your heart there and keeps it there. Muslims are encouraged to read it after praying, as that is the best time. Please don't tarnish Christians with that brush. So many I know are very good people who would go to any extreme to help me if I so needed, even as I am a muslim. My friend of 9 years, Proteon, was there when my ankle was broken. I was ok to drive and all even with the painkillers, but she heard the doctor say I shouldn't drive, so she made sure I didn't and took me where I needed to go. Most really do have good hearts, and they are a people close to my heart along with my muslim brethren.

I first thank Father God for the Word and since I seldom have the time to devote to reading it all everyday, I pray that I will receive from it the wisdom that Father God wants me to have from the time spent. All prayed in the Name of Jesus.

Its not a case of being stupid at all.
People pray to open the mind to higher understanding that's all.
I think your first point is true. God helps people interpret the billion year old text.

...I usually ask for God's leading, because I am weak and have the chance to misinterpret a passage I am reading. I need His guidance and help in all things.
...Observe this passage, 1 Corinthians 2:14:
..."But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated."
...In and of ourselves, we are incapable of discerning spiritual truths.
...I urge all to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. (Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

Neither. Pray so that you can be blessed by the word of God. It is one thing to feed your mind and another to feed your soul.
