My 8 year old nuetered cat started doing that. I thought he was just trying to be bad. I took him to one vet and she said he was depressed and gave me antidepressants. Can you believe? That didnt work (hard to give cats pills every day too) So I took him to another vet and they did a urine test and he had an infection. Some anibiotics and all clear up now. I now feed him food special for urinary tract health ONLY OR IT DOES COME BACK. good luck.

I bet an infection. Also, really should neuter it. They will do these things if not neutered. So make a good house cat out of him and have him neutered. Also, use scent free cat litter, or try the Tidy cat with on the front says, New Tidy lock, it has no smell and scoops right out without any little clumps left behind. Neuter neuter neuter......

you may get a definite 'Get off' spray..it stops them from peeing and chewing and scratching in areas they should not be. additionally, confirm you sparkling the clutter tray a minimum of as quickly as an afternoon, yet while the cat makes use of it oftentimes interior the day then two times could be greater advantageous. i finished feeding my cat moist nutrition because of the fact the vet stated that its greater advantageous to easily shop him on dry nutrition, additionally you may desire to feed a cat exceedingly much two times as plenty moist nutrition than dry nutrition. i do no longer think of it rather is linked, yet in time your cat will learn how to no longer pee in places he shouldn't. inspite of each and everything he's basically a kitten.

My cats have begun using a puppy piddle pad which we have to paper train our new puppy..

better than them urinating on our carpet i suppose?

so maybe get a package of dog /puppy training pads and maybe the cats will go on them instead of spraying like mine are?

He may have a urinary tract infection or crystals. You must go to the vet to have a urine analysis, because for male cats this can cause blockage and death, but it is treatable with medication and/or change of diet

if its a tom(male) cat, its just a natural instinct to pee everywhere to mark their territory. cats are Territorial animals and they will mark it with there urine, as a scent to tell other cats that its their place. i have the same problem before with my cat. to stop it, you should have it castrated to stop the habit.
