Is this proof enough that some people are just ignorant and stupid as they reject truth, or just some people want to see what they believe and ignore what they don't *want to* believe?

Hey... I got a thumbs down for giving makeup tips to someone who asked for makeup tips in the beauty & style section. Some people just give thumbs down for no apparent reason.

cause others may think that Islam is not as bad as it looks to them so by giving u thumbs down they make people who really care to know the truth doubt ur answer...pathetic arent they?
by the way it always happen to me...tell u something funny..? once i was given thumbs down in polls section ... when some 1 ask question like do u or do u not and i said i do not .. actually i dont really remember the question.. but it happens some people likes the red colour of the thumb down :D

I salute you for having reason to back up your beliefs. I agree with you...I have many Muslim friends [though I myself am Christian] and they all believe that what the terrorists did is awful. Just as there have been many Christians in radical groups who do things in the name of their religion that I don't agree with. You can find nearly anything in any religious book/belief/etc., you just have to decide how to interpret it in a way that seems right.
But I agree with you that people ignore what they don't want to believe.
As for the thumbs-downers...tuh.
And as for this...

...there is violence in anything. Look in the Bible or anywhere in history. People are violent. If you want to look at everything as fluffy and nice, go ahead. Once again...ignoring what they don't want to believe.

I think a couple of people just saw "Let me quote the Qu'ran" and automatically gave you thumbs down without even reading the rest. They did that because they are prejudice against Muslims. But hey, you got 8 thumbs up! Cheer up.

Don't forget that the Qur'an also says that Allah thinks very highly of martyrs - I expect that, much like Christianity, Islam can be used to justify all sorts of mutually exclusive ideas if you can only find suitable verses to quote.
