I graduated from high school, and went college as everyone had told me and expected me to do! Two years into college I become sick of it! I mean literally sick, I was always at the doctors office for something. Then I just couldn't get back into being in college. I didn't know what I wanted to do, or if the degree I obtained would help in the real world! So I decided to take a break from school and maybe get a job or try community college. During that time I was seeing a lot about the war in Iraq and decided I wanted to join the Air Force, I did a lot of research and joined, then I ended up in the hospital, because of that I have the opportunity to drop out of the Delayed Enlistment Program or change the date I'm scheduled to leave. I don't know whether I should go or stay and finish school. i really like all the Air Force has to offer, but i'm afraid to leave my family and friends, and don't know if i should get my degree first or if i'll regret not enlisting!!! advice please!

It sounds like you may have a commitment problem. If I were you I would forget about the service until you (no offense) grow up a little bit. If you get into the service and can't handle it and you are discharged for any thing less then honorable you will regret it. You may need some counseling dealing with choosing a career path and a life path. Your best bet is to go back to school and get an education and see where it takes you. What ever you do commit to it and give it 100%. Good luck.

I don't know you, but based upon my knowledge of the Air Force it would seem like you should go now. You will learn a skill that you may be able to use after getting out of the service. It will also give you more confidence in yourself and you will be more matured at that time. Also, I think you will be able to be able to finish college afterward with financial help from the government. And you'll have a better idea of what kind of profession you want to study for your degree. If you get sick again you will be treated and then given a medical discharge, which means it will be an honorable discharge and not make you look badly on your service record when people check later on when you apply of a job.
Good luck.

You've wasted a lot of time being indecisive about your future, and you've missed a lot of good opportunities.
College was a good thing--why did you leave?
Junior college was a good option.
Getting a job was a good option.
Joining the Air Force was a good option, and now you sound like you're looking for an excuse to get out.
Here's your advice: as hard as you can, kick yourself in the butt. You don't have very many years on this planet, and you've just wasted how many?
All of the above options ARE the right choice becuase they lead somewhere. Just pick one! You don't have a problem making decisions, you have a problem making them work for you, and all you have to do to make them work for you is DON'T QUIT!

Go ahead and change your ship date.
Just do it, commit yourself to the Air Force and seize your chance to really be something. If you don't leap, you'll really never know what you could've been, and that regret is a fact you'll have to live with forever.
You can transfer your college credits to an Air Force-affiliated university. It's not an either-or proposition, so don't feel like you have to choose. You can join the military and still go to college if you like.
Take care!

Poor you.... How much more your life are you going to waste? How about this...join the Marine Corps. The Marines will make all you decisions for you. They will also not put up with your being whiney and indecisive. You will learn to take control of your life. Of course the Marines are looking for a few good people and you may not measure up.

There are remorses and regrets everywhere you want to go... If you leave your family and friends, you'll be even more happy when you'll come back. And they will miss you too. That's a good thing. My advice would be to always try to discover the world and go away, never stay as that would kill you, kill your expectations and kill your hopes.
