I have often asked that too. I get confused everytime. I only know that God gives underserved kindness to us. Undeserved because we all sin and do not deserve his love (grace) but he gives it anyways.

Grace is a gift from God. When one is doing God's will, one is in harmony with all things and experiences an inner peace and strength against temptation. That state of being is called Grace.
Also, some people use the word to signify the prayer that precedes meals.
