My hair is very fine too, but I use a thickening mousse on it just after I've washed it and that makes a difference, it seems to give the hair more body. Your hair is not quite long enough to be able to stay up if you put it up, you need another couple of inches to pin it up properly; however, there are a lot of great grab-clips that can tie it away from your face.
Go to a Claire's Accessories if you have one in a nearby shopping centre - they have a brilliant selection of hair ties, clips and bands and I have always found their assistants very willing to try the clips on your own hair, so that you can see if it suits.
Good luck.

Use a volumizing leave-in conditioner or mousse. Loreal makes some good ones. While your hair is damp, comb some through your hair, then bend over so your hair is towards the ground and blowdry it using a round bristle brush and the warm setting on your blowdryer. Don't use too much product as it will weigh down your hair, and don't use an extra hot blowdryer as it will have the same effect. Finally- don't over brush/comb your hair or play with it.

I have very fine hair too - I often have to twirl hairbands round 6 or 7 times to get then to fit so I know how you feel. Have you tried putting mousse on your hair when it is damp and then blowdrying it upside down? Curling your hair is a good one but it can get boring and tedious to do. Have a look at some of the newer volumising mousses out now - good luck hope you get it sorted.

There are lots of products available to spray on to increase the diameter of the hair. But id start by taking a supplement, to work from the inside. There is a one which is available called Nourkin, which contains marine protein, and other natural ingredients. The results are very impressive and it is reccommende by doctors and dermatologists. You can find this online,or health food shops, or Boots chemists.good luck.

i also have fine hair and i found that having a gentle soft perm helped mine, i also had it layered that helps aswell, i wash mine then use a mousse conditioner on my midlenghts and ends only (not on roots or scalp)which preverts an overload of conditioner that can make hair greasy and limp, blowdryer my hair upside down to lift the root area, then straightenen my hair (using a heat protecting product) just to my midlenghts and ends as my root area is already lifted, this gives my hair a fullier look. it sound long winded but only takes max 20 mins start to finish. i hope this helps you.

Thick! I easily have a love/hate dating with my hair. i'm donating it to locks of affection in December as quickly as I cut back it. i would be giving approximately 12 inches, i'm no longer able to attend to have short hair! It sucks that i'm slicing it the day of homecoming=/ Oh nicely

buy a thickening shampoo from the hairdressers is a good start.if you have layers put into the hair it gives the image that it is thicker eg chunky layers.try not to blow dry or straighten it to much as this will make your hair dry and damaged.
