I think so. Why can't people just ACCEPT each other for being unique, special individuals?

Instead, some people try to force each others opinions down each other's throats and that causes angry feelings.

What do you think?

I love that we can be individuals, but others have to have control over the way people live. It has been happening since the beginning, and it will happen until the end. So to answer your question, yes. religion causes wars. We kill for what we truely believe. The problem is that we all come from the same place and we all have found a different source. Rah, the Sun god. Osiris, god of the underworld. We had to have a god for every aspect of life and it got out of hand and destroyed the unity of humanity. We all come from the same creator and it should be that simple. Period......

Religion causes confusion. There are so many different beliefs in this world. The most important thing is, Knowing Jesus as your Savior. Salvation is the only way to Heaven, not some kind of religion.

I disagree on the mere fact religion is only a word. The meanings people behind a word and or phrase are what causes the strife and or war.

Do Not Follow Your Parents' Religion Blindly

[5:104] When they are told, "Come to what GOD has revealed, and to the messenger," they say, "What we found our parents doing is sufficient for us." What if their parents knew nothing, and were not guided?

[5:105] O you who believe, you should worry only about your own necks. If the others go astray, they cannot hurt you, as long as you are guided. To GOD is your ultimate destiny, all of you, then He will inform you of everything you had done.

No Compulsion in Religion

[2:256] There shall be no compulsion in religion: the right way is now distinct from the wrong way. Anyone who denounces the devil and believes in GOD has grasped the strongest bond; one that never breaks. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient

[2:257] GOD is Lord of those who believe; He leads them out of darkness into the light. As for those who disbelieve, their lords are their idols; they lead them out of the light into darkness - these will be the dwellers of Hell; they abide in it forever.

Religion itself don't cause war, but the misinterpretation and intolerance from the believer cause disharmony, thus go into 'war'.

I always thought men with guns started wars.

What happens when you take your church and invade Kuwait with Bibles and tracks? How do you defend yourself when you find out that THEIR idea of war is 155mm canons and air support?

Don't you feel dumb making statements like this? If religions started wars, wouldn't the churches have defense budgets, too?
